Episode 75: Scotchy Scotch ScotchJoined this week by Starr Craft regulars Steve and Maureen, our guests graciously share a fine selection of Scotch Whisky from their collection. In today's episode we learn why a bit of water is important in tasting techniques for Scotch, or any other liquor for that matter and they brought a unique drinking vessel that gets passed around later in the episode. A fun story about Johnny's mom from a trip their family made to Scotland years ago and toured one of the distillery's that makes a Scotch featured in this weeks episode. Along with some other stories, in particular from our guests of their time in Scotland (and a couple from Johnny from his time there), somehow everyone stays fairly on topic of discussion today so not too much to note here in the description... Finishing the episode out, Mr. Steve graces us with his rendition of the song "The Parting Glass".

Episode 74: ALIVE but not LIVEFollowing last weeks higher gravity episode, Mr. Keith joins the guys again for more wonderful discussions about beer and bullshit. The first of the episode is a new cider offered at Starr Craft that was inspired by Mr. Bills fire cider and let me tell you what, WOOOOOWWWWW is it fantastic!!! Getting a bit off topic the guys discuss some wines and meads and get a bit into how some Michigan breweries have been closing up shop and what might be some of the reasons for it... Switching back to some more Starr Craft beers and development, the guys get into a brief discussion about soap from local "Green Thyme Workshop" (https://greenthymeworkshop.com) made with Starr Crafts Attitude Adjuster IPA and how amazing it smells and Johnny BADLY wants to get it in a cologne or body wash of some sort... Moving into some more beverages, the guys get a bit back on topic for awhile though, then back and forth rest of the episode...

Episode 73: Switch UpIn a slightly different content type in today's episode, the guys get into some pretty strong stuff in some special bourbons, scotch and moonshines. Don't worry though, there is a purpose in some discussions of the SOB beverage releasing later this year from Starr Craft. Joined part way through the episode by mug club member and karaoke regular Mr. Keith, the guys backtrack a little bit to get him caught up before they continue with the wonderfully delicious beverages of the day! With a bit of talk of different brands of cola, the topic changes slightly to the mixing of these wonderful beverages, then back and forth between liquors and general stories. No lie though, it gets a bit weird towards the end for a few before getting reeled back in...

Episode 72: Woof WoofOnce again we at High Gravity would like to extend our heartfelt apologies to Bre's dad Carl, based on last weeks episode you should have had an idea this episode would be the same or worse than last weeks though so from here forward, it's on your sir, hope you enjoy the show otherwise haha! Starting with MOSTLY on topic beer conversation, from talking in weird accents (quite poorly) to talking about cheese and maggots, this one gets wild and is a contender for one of our most BS filled episodes! Definitely one of the most fun ones without a doubt though! Including a wild story about how odd young Johnny was back in the day from an old friend and Bre's brother Michael. A couple of quick side stories about first dates while ATTEMPTING to read a beer description, then it goes right back off the rails again. Getting somewhat back on topic, for a moment then back to some stuff about schooling (back to school, back to school, to prove...) for awhile... Everyone takes a couple moments for a special cheers and shout out to all our moms, and all the moms everywhere! Then we get back into strip club talk before ending with a short and odd discussion about the Bibs and Brews event coming to town in March.

Speaking with our guests, we get into some discussion of the restaurant, some of the building revisions since they bought it and plans of the future. Getting into the BS, our guests are fitting RIGHT in with the guys and it only gets better from there! Moving into a bit of liquor talk, the guys TRY to get back on topic with a new beer then go back off topic again, then it's just back and forth for awhile before the show goes DEEPLY into the bullshit element of the show. We at High Gravity would like to extend our heartfelt apologies to Bre's dad Carl, we are sorry. Not really though, she knew what she was getting into and you knew about the show before you listed so really it's on you at this point! After a short break, everyone picks right back up with the BS, getting into a final beer of the show we all had DID NOT have high hopes for and a story of when Johnny drank some beer for dogs...

Episode 66: Surprise Visitors

Episode 66: Surprise VisitorsA couple of surprise visitors (Johnny's friends Ed and Sara along with their daughter) stop by to say hello and one of them (Ed) got thrown onto the mic for part of the episode. Starting off otherwise with a quick flashback to the Hulk Hogan beer, then continuing on with the episode in Quad beers! This is a fun one for Mr. Ed as he is kind of new to most of this kind of stuff! Oh and apparently the whole eagle thing happened AFTER we recorded this episode, as of recording it WAS NOT official though is now. There is a decent mix and amount of BS and beer talk in this episode, don't THINK we broke the new guy this round, so he'll probably be back at some point. Got into a bit of a discussion of Whiskey and Bourbon and a bit off topic from there, at some point circled back though after a roast of poor Johnny... There was energy drink talk again and some other stuff too. Also, big shout out to Matt Busch and his project "Aladdin 3477", going to have him on as a future guest so be sure to check him and the movie out on one of the many streaming platforms it will be out on!
