Episode 77: Mystery Can

Episode 77: Mystery CanStarting off the episode with a "Mystery Beer" Johnny brought to the show. Tune in for the interesting details about that one AND how Johnny actually kinda screwed up a joke he tried to pull on Brother Darrell, though listen for the dings when Darrell guesses correct details... Comparing some differences between that one and a fresh pour of the same beer, the guys note some changes that happened when it was canned several weeks prior to sampling today. Touching on the subject of chemistry, the guys discuss some sciency stuff that goes into brewing that MOST people tend to overlook. Moving onto the main content of this episode, the guys get into a vertical of KBS, comparing, contrasting and discussing how it has seemingly changed over the three different year bottles sampled. Having a bit of a discussion about the upcoming Darklord Day as well before finishing the episode with a wonderfully special beer provided by Brother Phil, the guys get into a FANTASTIC special release Dragon's Milk from New Holland.

Though between a couple different blendings of a couple of today's beverages, Johnny has some mixed results with attempts, a couple good blends, as well as couple fairly bad ones too. Episode 75: Scotchy Scotch ScotchJoined this week by Starr Craft regulars Steve and Maureen, our guests graciously share a fine selection of Scotch Whisky from their collection. In today's episode we learn why a bit of water is important in tasting techniques for Scotch, or any other liquor for that matter and they brought a unique drinking vessel that gets passed around later in the episode. A fun story about Johnny's mom from a trip their family made to Scotland years ago and toured one of the distillery's that makes a Scotch featured in this weeks episode. Along with some other stories, in particular from our guests of their time in Scotland (and a couple from Johnny from his time there), somehow everyone stays fairly on topic of discussion today so not too much to note here in the description... Finishing the episode out, Mr. Steve graces us with his rendition of the song "The Parting Glass".

The first of the episode is a new cider offered at Starr Craft that was inspired by Mr. Bills fire cider and let me tell you what, WOOOOOWWWWW is it fantastic!!! Getting a bit off topic the guys discuss some wines and meads and get a bit into how some Michigan breweries have been closing up shop and what might be some of the reasons for it... Switching back to some more Starr Craft beers and development, the guys get into a brief discussion about soap from local "Green Thyme Workshop" (https://greenthymeworkshop.com) made with Starr Crafts Attitude Adjuster IPA and how amazing it smells and Johnny BADLY wants to get it in a cologne or body wash of some sort... Moving into some more beverages, the guys get a bit back on topic for awhile though, then back and forth rest of the episode...

Episode 73: Switch UpIn a slightly different content type in today's episode, the guys get into some pretty strong stuff in some special bourbons, scotch and moonshines. Don't worry though, there is a purpose in some discussions of the SOB beverage releasing later this year from Starr Craft. Joined part way through the episode by mug club member and karaoke regular Mr. Keith, the guys backtrack a little bit to get him caught up before they continue with the wonderfully delicious beverages of the day! With a bit of talk of different brands of cola, the topic changes slightly to the mixing of these wonderful beverages, then back and forth between liquors and general stories. No lie though, it gets a bit weird towards the end for a few before getting reeled back in...

Episode 72: Woof WoofOnce again we at High Gravity would like to extend our heartfelt apologies to Bre's dad Carl, based on last weeks episode you should have had an idea this episode would be the same or worse than last weeks though so from here forward, it's on your sir, hope you enjoy the show otherwise haha! Starting with MOSTLY on topic beer conversation, from talking in weird accents (quite poorly) to talking about cheese and maggots, this one gets wild and is a contender for one of our most BS filled episodes! Definitely one of the most fun ones without a doubt though! Including a wild story about how odd young Johnny was back in the day from an old friend and Bre's brother Michael. A couple of quick side stories about first dates while ATTEMPTING to read a beer description, then it goes right back off the rails again. Getting somewhat back on topic, for a moment then back to some stuff about schooling (back to school, back to school, to prove...) for awhile... Everyone takes a couple moments for a special cheers and shout out to all our moms, and all the moms everywhere! Then we get back into strip club talk before ending with a short and odd discussion about the Bibs and Brews event coming to town in March.
